In Commemoration of the CNSA Founding President Professor Xiao-Ming Xu
紀念華人神經創傷學會創會會長徐曉明教授
We, the Chinese Neurotrauma Scholar Association (CNSA) Board with heavy hearts, announce that our CNSA Founding President and a Board Councilor, Dr. Xiao-Ming Xu has passed away on December 2, 2022. He has experienced life challenges for the past 2 years and fought valiantly his battle against cancer.
Dr. Xu was a Professor of Neurological Surgery and Mari Hulman George Chair, Scientific Director of the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Group, Stark Neuroscience Research Institute at the Indiana University School of Medicine; and a Research Career Scientist at the Richard Roudebush VA Medical Center, and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal, Neural Regeneration Research, and also served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Neurotrauma. Dr. Xu was a brilliant neuroscientist and passionate about teaching, mentoring, and serving the academic community for advancing the field toward the discovery of cure for spinal cord and brain injury.
We are deeply sad for the loss of an outstanding scientist and advocate for translational neuroscience, enthusiastic educator, inspiring leader, and dear colleague and friend !
